Gaisce – The President’s Award is a self-development programme for young people aged 14-25. It is a direct challenge from the President of Ireland, Michael D. Higgins, to all young people to dream big and realise their potential.
The mission is to provide a positive youth development programme that encourages and rewards young people to discover their passions and challenge themselves, positively impacting themselves and the world around them.
Gaisce Participants achieve a Gaisce Award by completing Challenge Areas: Personal Skill, Physical Recreation, Community Involvement, and an Adventure Journey. President’s Award Leaders deliver, guide and support Gaisce Participants undertaking the Award.
Central to the success and design of the Gaisce programme are the incredible President’s Award Leaders (“PALs”) who deliver, guide and support thousands of young people undertaking their Gaisce journey each year, our Chairperson Jason is a P.A.L. and we have been running with the GAISCE project in Blessington Tidy Towns for many years, special thanks to all the young people involved, Daniel, Jonah and Liam to name just a few. They have done amazing work in the community through this great initiative.
