We have started our Phase 1 programme conducting Energy Audits at residential, commercial and public buildings and facilities in our town, and generating an Energy Master Plan for Blessington.
We are a voluntary community group, partnering with Blessington Tidy Towns and Blessington & District Forum, focused on reducing energy use and greenhouse gas emissions in Blessington and the surroundng area. We are conducting a community-wide survey to learn how local residents use energy. Each household is welcome to fill in this short questionnaire here.
We have also been awarded funding from SEAI, via Wicklow CoCo, to conduct on-site energy surveys on buildings in the community with a view to preparing a plan for introducing appropriate energy reduction measures. A limited number of these on-site surveys will be conducted at no cost to our project participants and professionally administered by 3 Counties Energy Agency
The Aim
Through the appropriate use of renewable and energy saving technologies we intend to make our community, starting with Blessington, more energy efficient. We intend to engage with community groups, sports clubs, schools etc. in order to promote better energy awareness.
