Defibrillator Project

Two local community groups in Blessington — Blessington Tidy Towns and Blessington Community First Responders — have come together to deliver a vital improvement to public safety in the town: the installation of public access defibrillators at two key locations, the Men’s Shed and West Wicklow House. This collaborative effort was driven by a shared commitment to community wellbeing and emergency preparedness, ensuring that life-saving equipment is available where it’s needed most.

The project was made possible through the active support of other local groups and businesses, and the coordination efforts of Blessington Tidy Towns, who facilitated the installations. Blessington Community First Responders brought their expertise and dedication to the project, highlighting the importance of fast response in cardiac emergencies. Special thanks are extended to Simon Taylor, Paul Butler, and a fantastic local RECI-qualified electrician who generously donated their time and skills but wishes to remain anonymous. Their contribution, along with the combined efforts of everyone involved, is a powerful example of community spirit in action. Thank you very much to Peter Eustace from the West Wicklow House and Liam Fay from The Men’s Shed who were key to this project too.
