May 2023 Blessington Tidy Towns in partnership with the Wicklow County Council and the Environmental Awareness Officer Jim Callery organised for the Rediscover Fashion Programme Manager, Arran Murphy, from the Rediscovery Centre to come to Blessington for a textile repair demonstration. During this practical demonstration Arran demonstrated various different repair techniques including how to take up a hem, how to patch a hole in a pair of trousers, how to fix a hole in a jumper, different stitch techniques and much more… Arran also provided those in attendance with an overview of the great work that’s been taking place in the Rediscovery Centre and the background to how it came about.
