2GoCups is a groundbreaking initiative committed to reducing single-use plastic waste and supporting local businesses, has proudly launched its sustainable coffee cup program in Blessington, Co Wicklow. This eco-conscious endeavor, backed by Wicklow County Council and Blessington Tidy Towns, marks a significant stride toward a greener future.
Participating businesses are seamlessly incorporating reusable cups into their daily operations, providing customers with an environmentally friendly alternative to single-use plastics. The ingeniously designed cups are not only reusable but can also be conveniently picked up or dropped off at any of the participating outlets. After each use, the used cups undergo a thorough cleaning and sanitization process, allowing customers the choice of taking a fresh cup or receiving a refund of the nominal €2 deposit initially paid. This thoughtful approach encourages a cycle of sustainability.
Jason Mulhall and Paul Butler of Blessington Tidy Towns warmly embraced the initiative, stating, “The launch of 2GoCup in Blessington exemplifies our community’s commitment to environmental sustainability. It is inspiring to witness local businesses and the community uniting to tackle the plastic waste challenge, marking a significant stride toward establishing a viable circular economy within our town.”
